Learned astrology through eight years of independent study while completing his B.Tech and M.Tech at Banaras Hindu University (1975–1983). He has been practising astrology since January 1981 — at BHU, Varanasi until June 1983, at BIT Mesra, Ranchi from July 1983 to December 1987, and at NIT Silchar from 1987 until February 2023. He still analyses horoscopes today with the same scientific, disciplined method.
